Europe in the Classroom: 3AHITN Joins Euroscola

3AHITN 2025/26

On 12 May 2026, class 3AHITN were virtual participants in a Euroscola debate titled “The EU’s Zero Pollution Ambition: Where Do We Stand Today?” The event connected young people from many European countries and gave students the chance to experience European democracy in action.

The programme included a video message from Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, a Q&A session with MEP Andreas Schwab, an Innovation Lab on the EU’s zero-pollution ambition, debates, workshops, and a simulation of the work of Members of the European Parliament.

Our students followed the event with great interest and actively participated in the interactive elements. As is often the case with events that raise political awareness and strengthen democratic understanding, participation was key. The class used the SLIDO platform enthusiastically to answer polls, submit questions and engage with current European issues.

As the pictures of the event show, our students were not just passive viewers. They asked relevant and thought-provoking EU-related questions, addressing topics such as transparency in EU decision-making, youth participation in politics, AI regulation, climate goals, and Europe’s economic future. Several of their questions were ranked among the most popular ones on the platform.

This strong participation shows that class 3AHITN clearly understood an important message: the European Union is not something distant or abstract. It is connected to our future, our environment, our rights and our responsibility as citizens. Democracy needs young people who ask questions, think critically and take part.

Euroscola 2026 was therefore more than just an online event. It was a lively lesson in European citizenship, participation and democratic awareness — and 3AHITN was right in the middle of it. ©SCPA
