Exploring Historical Malta

2024/25

In the week from March 26th to April 2nd, the 4AHWII had the magnificent opportunity to spend their language week in the historical country of Malta.

During the week, the students attended a language school in Sliema, which is the more modern part of the cities on the north coast of Malta. There, they took part in speaking activities designed to help them prepare for the oral Matura.

In the afternoons and on the weekend, trips to Mdina and Rabat, as well as to Valletta, were organized. These excursions gave the students the chance to explore the historical side of Malta.

On Sunday, there was a trip to Gozo and Comino. First, the students took a ferry to Gozo and enjoyed a sightseeing tour by bus with a humorous tour guide. After the visit to Gozo, they took a smaller boat to Comino, where they had free time to explore the island. The speedboat transfer back to Malta in the evening was a real highlight – the skipper drove into every small bay he saw, even though he was short on time!

During their stay in Malta, the students were hosted by local families. This gave them an authentic insight into the everyday life of the Maltese people.

All in all, the class truly enjoyed this amazing opportunity. They appreciated the chance to learn about a different culture and are grateful for the experiences they were able to gain.
