4AHWII 2025/26
In the week from April 14th to April 21st, the class 4AHWII had the exciting opportunity to spend their language week in the vibrant as well as diverse city of London.
Throughout the week, the students attended the Oxford International School in Greenwich, where the students participated in various speaking activities to improve their English skills, particularly their pronunciation. The lessons were interactive and helped build confidence in communication and promote each person’s creativity.
During the afternoons and at the weekend, the class explored many famous sights of London. The students visited iconic landmarks such as Big Ben, St Paul’s Cathedral and Buckingham Palace, where they experienced the rich history and culture of the city. We also walked across the famous Tower Bridge.
Additionally, a tour of Greenwich allowed the students to stand on the Prime Meridian at the Royal Observatory and take a stroll around the Greenwich Market, Greenwich Park, Royal Naval College, Cutty Sark, the National Maritime Museum. Another highlight was the visit to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, where they discovered the magical world behind the Harry Potter films.
Furthermore, the group also enjoyed a very nice boat tour on the River Thames, which offered a great view of the big city’s skyline. A visit to Wembley Stadium was especially exciting for football fans.
In addition, the students explored popular markets such as Borough Market and Camden Market, where they tried a wide variety of international foods. The class also visited Notting Hill, especially Portobello Road, known for its colourful houses, charming streets, and flea market. Not to mention the time spent shopping at the famous Harrods and the many shops on Oxford Street.
During their stay in London, the students were hosted by local families near Greenwich, which was for some of the students a memorable, even spooky experience.
All in all, the class truly enjoyed this unforgettable experience. The students appreciated the opportunity to improve their language skills, discover one of Europe’s most exciting and bustling cities, and create lasting memories together.
